Who is replying?
A common question when setting up AnswerForMe is: “How should the AI introduce itself to customers?”
The answer is: however you decide.
Technically, messages are sent from your enterprise chatbot (via integrated CRM) number (the one you connected). What changes is the content and tone, which you define in the agent Personality (Roleplay) settings.
There are three main strategies:
1) Transparent AI (recommended)
The agent clearly introduces itself as an AI or virtual assistant.
- Example: “Hi, I’m the virtual assistant. How can I help?”
- Pros: sets expectations; customers are more forgiving when the AI can’t answer.
- Best for: tech support, high-volume customer service, AI Agent for WhatsApp companies.
2) Named assistant (persona)
You create a fictional character with a name and role.
- Example: “Hi! I’m Sofia from Sales. I’m here to help you choose.”
- Pros: more human and warm.
- Best for: real estate, retail stores, appointment booking.
3) “Clone” style (impersonation)
The AI writes as if it were you (owner) or a real staff member, mimicking your writing.
- Pros: very personal tone.
- Risks: if the AI makes an obvious mistake, trust can drop. Needs a strong WhatsApp Business API prompt.
- Best for: consultants, personal brands, freelancers.
How to configure it
- Go to AI Settings > Personality.
- Set Agent Name (e.g., “Bot”, “Sofia”, “Dr. Smith”).
- In Role Instructions, define behavior and tone.
Remember: what customers see
Customers see your WhatsApp Payments number. There is no “Sent by AnswerForMe” label — so your first reply should establish the roleplay clearly.
Yes. You can instruct it to be "Professional with business clients, but friendly with retail customers" and it will adapt based on context, though a consistent persona is usually better for brand identity.
Does it sound robotic?
Not if configured correctly. By using "Persona" mode and giving it a name and a natural writing style definition (e.g., "Use short sentences, friendly tone"), it is often indistinguishable from a human.
